Now that the Wii U has released in all countries, the games can finally begin to flow. In 2013 we will see a giant list of amazing games coming to the Wii U. From platformers to fighting games and everything in between. There is so much to look forward to, you may be wishing you had skipped Christmas to afford all these great games.
Aliens: Colonial Marines

Aliens: Colonial Marines will see the long awaited return of the Aliens to gaming. Colonial Marines puts players into the shoes of a United States Colonial Marine, trying to survive against all odds from the Alien hordes. Colonial Marines has been named as a true sequel to the original movie, taking place just after the events in the James Cameron film.
Players will make use of weapons seen in the movie such as flamethrowers, pulse rifles, smart-guns, shotguns, pistols, RPGs and even sentry turrets. There will be no shortage of guns to take out an Alien before he rips you apart.

With gameplay similar to its predecessor, Ken’s Rage 2 will take pointers from the Dynasty Warriors games. With increasingly larger and more difficult hordes of enemies and faster movement and combat, this will be one for the action fans.
Featuring a campaign with multiple playable characters, and a Dream Mode providing back story and alternate scenarios for your favorite characters. Ken’s Rage 2 will feature twenty playable characters with five downloadable characters already announced.

The Rayman series is back with a sequel to Rayman Origins, this time exclusively for the Wii U. Players will be running, jumping, and fighting their way through increasingly difficult levels, collecting Lums along the way.
Players will have the option of controlling Rayman, Globox, the Teensies and a new female character, Barbara. Up to four players can play cooperatively using the Wii-motes and the new GamePad.

The Amazing Spider-Man

The Amazing Spider Man has already released on the other systems currently out and did not fare so well. Now it is getting a second chance, coming to the Wii U early in 2013, players once again take on the role of Spider-Man.
With the ability to roam the city at your own free will and swing from the tallest buildings, there is always something to be done. Fly around the city or follow the amazing story and take down some of the biggest bad guys in the Spider-Man universe.

Lego City: Undercover
Release: March 18, 2013
Lego City Undercover will be one of the first Lego games made by TT Games to not use a movie license. This one will have players taking on the role of undercover cop, Chase McCain, taking down criminals in Lego City.
Players will make use of cars and helicopters to help them catch criminals. New features such as disguises, and using the GamePad as police scanner will help the player complete that big bust.

Need for Speed: Most Wanted
Release: March 19th 2013
The Need for Speed series returns with another game in the open world racing world many have come to love and hate. This time around players pick one car at a time off the street and race against others.
Customization has been set to a minimum this time around, with more focus going into the stock cars and the races found throughout the world. A mix of everything from sports cars to muscle cars, there will be something for everyone with a crazy list of vehicles to drive.

Returning once again to the dark days of World War 2, players take on the role of Karl Fairburne, an OSS Sniper sent into Berlin to stop the German army. Tactical shooting, stealth, and sometimes even brute force will see players through their missions in the final days of the war.
Graphic kill shots and intense firefights await those who pick this game up on the Wii U. Currently released on the other systems with pretty good scores, let’s hope the Wii U version doesn’t disappoint.

Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate

The much loved Monster Hunter series returns, this time around with new monsters, missions, and features. The Wii U version of the game will feature new HD graphics, full online and local multiplayer support, and the ability to import your game from the 3DS.
Fans of the series will welcome all the familiar features and gameplay and rejoice with the newly added things. Keep an eye out for this one in March of 2013.

An upcoming one-on-one fighting game based on the DC Comics, with a great list of characters to choose from, heroes and villains. Each match will be one round and each player has two health bars to give them even more of a fighting chance.
DC fan favorites will be making an appearance, including Batman, Wonder Woman, Superman, Joker, and Harley Quinn. There will be a character for everyone to become attached to and master in the arena. An online mode will be included to find out who the best fighters really are.

Pikmin 3 will have players returning to control their plant-like army of up to 100 Pikmin. Using them to destroy barriers, defeat enemies, and build structures to help you complete levels. This time around there will be a couple of new Pikmin to command, Pink flying Pikmin and Rock Pikmin.
Originally expected to be a launch title, Pikmin 3 was delayed into 2013. Now 2013 is finally upon us and we may be able to get our hands on the newest Pikmin title in the series.

Wii Fit U
Release: May 1, 2013
Wii Fit U is exactly the same as its predecessors Wii Fit and Wii Fit Plus, except on the Wii U this time around. Players will be doing physical activities which will include things like yoga and strength training.
The Wii Balance Board will be making a return for the next game in the Wii Fit series as well. Players can now play the game without the use of a television screen, everything can be viewed on the GamePad’s touchscreen. The game will come bundles along with a pedometer for those who do not own one.

The Wonderful 101 is a mysterious game that has been dubbed as a “mass-hero action” game, currently being developed by Platinum Games. Directed by Hideki Kamiya and produced by Atsushi Inaba, some of the same people behind the upcoming Bayonetta 2.
Players will take control of a large group of superheroes and must fight off the alien threat coming into the city. Using the GamePad, players can form better weapons and skills using multiple heroes. These will come in handy while fighting monsters or the environment.

The second game in the hack and slash series will be making its way to the Wii U, and that is the only system it will be seen on. Bayonetta 2 will be a Wii U exclusive title, one of the very first.
Bayonetta 2 will be a direct sequel to the first game, Bayonetta developed by Platinum Games. The game will be directed by Yusuke Hashimoto and produced by Atsushi Inaba.

Sacrilegium is an upcoming survival horror game that takes place in a modern Romania. Players will take on the role of Alex, a young woman who makes a living hunting down modern vampires.
Players will be able to use a range of weapons from handguns to crossbows to fight off the blood sucking undead. Quick time events will be present throughout the game, making you think on your feet. This looks like one to keep an eye on for those interested in creatures of the night.
Game & Wario
The next party game in the Wario series being developed by Nintendo, now finally make its way to the Wii U. The game will feature 16 mini-games that will be played using the Wii U GamePad.
A few of the mini-games will support up to five simultaneous players. The GamePad will be the exclusive trailer for the games, with no need for additional Wii Remotes. Only a few of the games have been revealed so far, these include: Fruit, Gamer, Arrow, Ski, and Shutter. We will have a more in depth look at these soon.
Game & Wario Gameplay Trailer

In development by Slightly Mad Studios, Project CARS(Community Assisted Racing Simulator) will be, as the title implies, a racing simulator for the Wii U. Funding for the game is be raised by the community and the developers themselves, and interested players can purchase Tool Packs to help aid development.
The game currently boasts a large list of tracks and vehicles to be included at release. This list could definitely grow as the development continues however.

Players will once again be taking control of an elite sniper in the second game of the Sniper: Ghost Warrior series. This time around players will be fighting in urban terrain in Sarajevo, tropical jungles in Burma, and the beautiful mountains of Tibet.
Mixing stealth, hand-to-hand combat, and intense sniping situations, there will be something for every gamer. Sniping will include realistic bullet physics factoring in distance, wind, and even bullet drop for a challenging game.
