Australian Gamers Unable to Play Co-Op Mode Internationally with Saints Row IV
Australian gamers have once again received the short end of the stick. In this case, it has to do with Volition, Inc’s highly controversial video game, Saints Row IV.
Saints Row IV was at risk of being permanently banned in Australia which resulted in a new censored version of the game being distributed. This new censored version has received an MA15+ rating but that’s not the worst part about it. Australia’s censored version of Saints Row IV cannot be played cooperatively online with the International release. This means that friends over Xbox Live and the PlayStation Network that happen to live in two completely regions of the world (one being Australia) now cannot play their new game together. This unfortunate news was confirmed on the official Saints Row IV Facebook page:
“Due to the changes we were forced to make, this version is different from the version rated by rating boards like the ESRB, USK, and PEGI, which is why it will be incompatible with those versions in co-op.”
Saints Row IV is will be available on August 20th, 2013 in NA and August 24th, 2013 in the EU region on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Microsoft Windows.
