Battlefield 4 Server Rentals Now Available

DICe has launched their rent-a-server program for Battlefield 4, allowing interested players to rent their own public and private servers. The owner of the server rental will have the ability to change the player count, map rotation, ticket count, and other settings.

All systems will receive server rentals, except the Xbox One, this is Battlefield 4 after all, it will always have its issues. DICE, speaking on the missing feature, said:

We have identified rental time issues with the Rent-a-Server Program release on Xbox One, and have temporarily removed the feature as we investigate. The servers which were already rented will still be available for play, but admins may not be able to access all the management features at this time. As soon as a fix is in place we will announce its availability.

The developer also stated they are working with a limited amount of servers at the moment, meaning not everyone will get one if they attempt to rent their own private/public game server. This rent-a-server program is currently in a soft launch. Server capacity will increase overtime.

The available rental time and prices are as follows:

  • 1 day: $1.49/£1.19
  • 7 days: $6.99/£5.49
  • 30 days: $24.99/£19.99
  • 90 days: $59.99/£47.99

Server rentals are huge news, many within the community have been waiting for this opportunity. All the clans and communities finally have a place to spend their time instead of in public servers.

DICE is also working on a fix for the death shield bug, which causes incoming fire to be turned against the attacking player if they shoot near or over a corpse.
