Black Ops 2 Holds Free Steam Weekend & Discount
Activision knows its first-person shooter, Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, is a mega-hit. But they do not have the illusion that every single person is a fan of the game. So they have set out to rectify this over the weekend.
Those who frequent Steam often will have noticed that Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 multiplayer is free-to-play for the weekend. The download is quick taking only a few hours on my slow connection. The multiplayer component will be available until Sunday at 1pm. That should give you ample time to rank up enough and decide whether or not to buy the game.
While the free weekend is occurring Black Ops 2 will be on sale through Steam for $40.19, that is a savings of 33%. That still may not be enough for a lot of people to pull the trigger on it and finally purchase the game.
Activision will also be holding a Double XP event over the weekend. This will give those new players coming into the free weekend a chance to rank up faster. But it will also give veteran players some new targets and easy experience points.
To take advantage of the free weekend simply open your downloads tab in Steam and find the Black Ops 2 – Multiplayer game. Those looking to buy can head over to the Steam Store, though the price tag is still a little high.
