Deus Ex: Human Defiance Not Quite A Hoax
On behalf of Jean-Francois Dugas and Jonathan Jacques Belletete, Happy April Fool’s Day, everyone! Seems as though the rumor of this day being a hoax have been confirmed…well, sort of. What has been confirmed is the name Deus Ex: Human Defiance was trademarked by Square Enix Europe just in case the game was to be developed. Unfortunately, announced via Eidos Montreal’s Facebook page, it was decided the trademark is not needed and the game cancelled.
However, Eidos Montreal has been hard at work to create the next best thing. Deus Ex Human Defiance: the 8-bit, futuristic adventure (with local co-op!) That’s right, folks. This pixellated journey of stealth, advanced combat mechanics and challenging enemies can be yours to enjoy by pledging support for the team. The idea of combining two triangles to make a square? Genius! It’s no wonder they were able to create additional cities of Montreal and Moscow on such a frugal budget.
Check out the video below for more information on this exciting new title as Eidos Montreal gives us a look into the future…in the past. I have to say, this is a very creative way of delivering bad news to gamers. Bravo, Eidos.
