Epic Teases “High End” Title
Epic Games has a busy slate for 2014, with Fortnite coming out and their VR title Couch Knights. However, studio co-founder Tim Sweeney has just teased yet another title in the works, this one is a “high end” title that will “push next generation graphics.” That sounds like something we can get on board with.
While speaking with Edge, Sweeney spoke on the game, saying:
It’s going to push next generation graphics as you’d always expect Epic to do.
There’s a lot [of Unreal Engine 4 games] on the way and a large number of them haven’t been announced. You’ll see lots of triple-A stuff coming out over time.
Sweeney did not reveal any details on the upcoming games, suggesting that not all of them may be triple-A titles. He continued:
The industry’s changing. This generation it seems like there are about a third of the number of triple-A titles in development across the industry as there was last time around – and each one seems to have about three times the budget of the previous generation. I think we’re heading towards a future where triple-A is the minority.
This “high end” title has our interest, however. And it definitely has the interest of many within the gaming community. The title may make use of Epic’s Infiltrator and Samaritan tech demos, which would be incredible.
