Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture: 2014 Release Date “Unrealistic”

Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture was originally slated for a 2014 release and is in development for the PC and PlayStation 4. Developer The Chinese Room, however, has confirmed we will probably not see the game this year.

When asked if we would see the indie, post-apocalyptic adventure title this year, The Chinese Room replied:

Unrealistic, rather than unreasonable :)

While speaking with VG247, The Chinese Room’s Dan Pinchbeck discussed the game’s release window, saying:

Rapture actually wasn’t ever slated for a 2014 release – we’re still very early in development. So we can confirm it’s not going to be out this year. As soon as we do have a launch window, we’ll let you know.

A recent controversy over Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture included the use of a feature limiting the game to just 60 minutes. This has since been scrapped due to disdain for the feature.

The Chinese Room should release more information on the game as the year goes on. But for now it seems we won’t get to explore the newly-created post-apocalypse for quite some time.

Are you excited for Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture? While we may not see the game this year, more than likely, I still cannot wait to get my hands on it.
