Games Affected By GameSpy Shutdown

by

GameSpy Technology announced earlier this month that they would be shutting down their servers and will “cease providing all hosted services for all games still using GameSpy.” That bodes extremely bad for numerous titles in a PC gamer’s catalog of titles. A lot of games of old made use of the GameSpy server system, especially first-person shooters.

More than 800 titles have made use of GameSpy since its launch over a decade ago. Developers will be required to move each individual title of theirs to new servers in order for the multiplayer component to continue working for whatever community may be left on them.
