American McGee, game designer for 2011′s Alice: Madness Returns, has taken to Facebook to ask fans if they are interested in Alice 3.
American McGee wrote:
Questions for you:
1) If we could get the rights from EA, would you play “Alice 3?”
2) If you’d play “Alice 3,” would you back it on Kickstarter?
3) If you said “yes” to those two things, make some noise – I’m trying to gauge interest in case I happen to discuss this with EA during GDC in 2 weeks. The more interest there is, the more seriously they’ll take the conversation.
McGee has stated that fans interested in playing a third Alice game should “make some noise” and get their voice heard.
McGee went on to say:
I’m trying to gauge interest in case I happen to discuss this with EA during [the Game Developers Conference] in two weeks.
The more interest there is, the more seriously they’ll take the conversation.
If he can obtain the rights from EA to make a new Alice game and start a Kickstarter campaign for funding it will not be his first time on the crowd-funding service. McGee and his studio, Spicy Horse Games, recently funded a free-to-play game, Akaneiro: Demon Hunters, through Kickstarter.
Alice: Madness Returns was a welcome twist on the infamous Alice in Wonderland story, not a full-blown horror but definitely unique and darkly twisted. If American McGee’s plans for Alice 3 are similar I will definitely be backing it on Kickstarter.
I would love to hear fans opinions on the Alice games and American McGee in the comments below.
