Machinarium Confirmed for PS Vita

Amanita Designs has confirmed that their quirky indie title, Machinarium, will be coming to the PlayStation Vita on March 26th. The puzzle-solving, robot adventure will set you back $6.99, a modest price for the fun you will gain from this title.

Jakub Dvorský of Amanita Designs stated:

The Vita version makes no compromises.

We’ve added some new features to compliment PS Vita’s capabilities.

You can now control the game not only with the system’s analog sticks and buttons, but also directly with your fingers on the touch screen and rear touch panel. We’ve improved the zoom feature too, so it’s more convenient to play the game in a portable capacity.

The Vita version of Machinarium will also come with PSN leader-boards for players who want to “see how quickly you can finish the game, and how your time stacks up against the rest of the world (compete for the best scores in Machinarium’s mini-games, as well).”

Machinarium is a point-and-click adventure game, tasking players with solving puzzles and brain teasers. Players take on the role of Josef after he is dumped in a pile of scrap. From there he sets off to save the city from the Black Cap Brotherhood before they can destroy the city’s tower.

Machinarium was originally released in October of 2009 for PC before moving to various other platforms. Now it is the Vita’s turn and we can get our hands on it on March 26th from the PlayStation Store.
