Nintendo Granted Wii U Panorama View Patent

No one can say that Nintendo hasn’t brought us a ton of great new features with the Wii U. But for them it isn’t good enough, they are bringing even more next spring to the Wii U eShop. Panorama View will allow gamers to use their GamePads to view different perspectives from what is shown on their television screens.

Today, Nintendo was granted a patent for their Panorama View feature. If you know anything about patents or just like to check them out you can view Nintendo’s here. What we can tell from the patent is that a great deal of detail about the gyrosensors, which determine the controller’s position changes, went into the document.

So now Nintendo does not need to fear anyone trying to steal this technology from them and use the feature on another system. This is good and bad news, depending on how you look at it. There is always someone out there who could improve upon a functioning system, but Nintendo did make it and has the right to make sure it is not stolen.

About Brandon

My name is Brandon, or iNomaD, either one. I love writing as much as I do gaming, which is a lot. I am not picky, I'll play any genre on any system, except Facebook games. You can check out my Youtube and Twitter for new gameplay and updates on the gaming world. Obsessed with BioShock and zombies. And probably a lot of other things too.
