505 Games has officially announced Sniper Elite 3 for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and next-generation platforms. The game is currently set to be released sometime in 2014.
505 Games stated:
Following the worldwide success of Sniper Elite and Sniper Elite V2 released on PC, Microsoft Xbox 360 and Sony PlayStation 3, 505 Games believe in the extremely high potential of this brand.
Sniper Elite V2 can definitely be called a success, selling over 1.1 million copies since the game launched in April 2012. Following those numbers with another entry into the series will definitely not hurt 505 Games. Gamers could not get enough of the sniping action seen in V2.
505 Games recently released the Sniper Elite: Nazi Zombie Army expansion, adding zombies into the World War 2 setting. The frantic race to take out the undead before they bite down on you mixed with the tactical Sniper Elite combat made for an interesting game.
No details have been released about Sniper Elite 3 yet, the developers should announce more info in the following weeks.
