Sony Investigating The Last of Us Discount On PS4 For PS3 Game Owners
Sony is considering offering a discount to the upcoming next-gen release of The Last of Us Remastered for those who purchased the game for the PlayStation 3 originally. Naughty Dog’s Eric Monacelli spoke on the PlayStation Blog, saying:
We’re looking into the business model for all this and will post about this once we have input from all regions.
The Last of Us Remastered Edition is due out this summer, reportedly this June, and will show off the new graphics Naughty Dog has worked on specifically for the PlayStation 4. The Remastered title will also feature all of the game’s DLC, which is another perfect reason to purchase the game.
No matter how good the game is (Game of the Year winner), the fans have spoken out against a full priced title. Sony has faced criticism for the full retail price listed on the PlayStation 4 version, even though the game isn’t even a full year old yet.
When the PlayStation 4 originally came out, Sony was offering digital PS4 upgrades to those who owned the launch titles on the PlayStation 3. The same could be done here in theory.
What do you think of a full retail price on The Last of Us? In my opinion, the game was worth every penny, and I would willingly buy it all over again for the next-gen experience and all the DLC, which I missed the first time around.
Let’s hear your thoughts in the comments below.
