Namco-Bandai revealed that on April 26th, gamers and Star Trek fans will be able to play Star Trek The Video Game. Star Trek will give players a deeper inside look at the U.S.S. Enterprise.
Brian Miller, senior Vice President of Paramount Pictures and Executive Producer for Star Trek The Video Game said:
One of the great joys of video games is the opportunity to take audiences to places that are only hinted at in traditional film and TV projects. Giving gamers the opportunity to explore the U.S.S. Enterprise is one of the more exciting aspects of our video game and one that we can’t wait to share with Star Trek fans and gamers worldwide.
Gamers will be able to play as either Kirk or Spock and face off against a known Star Trek enemy, the Gorn. The Gorn were first introduced to the Star Trek world in the classic 1967 Star Trek television episode “Arena”. Players will be taking the battle to the enemy in familiar locations on the U.S.S. Enterprise, such as the bridge and the transporter room.
The development team have worked closely with the team who made the 2009 hit Star Trek film. They two teams wanted to make sure players will get a real authentic feel for Star Trek universe in the game.
The Enterprise is not just a ship – she is one of the most important characters in all of Star Trek. Our goal from day one was to make sure that the Enterprise looks, feels and even sounds as true to life as anything players have ever seen. Hopefully, players will come away feeling as if they’re ready to be part of the crew themselves.
Star Trek The Video Game is set to release on the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC.
