Thief PC Is Not A Port, Says Producer Stephane Roy
Eidos Montreal producer Stephane Roy has assured fans of the franchise that the Thief PC version will not be a simple port of the game. All the options in the console versions will be present, except for Mantle at launch.
Eidos Montreal believes the Thief PC version will be “amazing,” even without the use of AMD’s Mantle graphics API at launch. While speaking with GameSpot, producer Stephane Roy said:
Honestly, if you’re a PC gamer, you’re going to be in love with [this] version.
Roy believes this because developer Nixxes Software is “really, really good,” he said. Roy continued:
They are going to have a PC version, not a port. They are going to have a PC version, not a port
Nixxes Software is known for the PC versions of both Hitman: Absolution and Deus Ex: Human Revolution. The Netherlands-based studio has also contributed to work on Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
According to Roy, PC gamers who pick up Thief can expect a wide range of options for the game. “All the PC options you can imagine are there,” he said.
Thief launches tomorrow in North America for PC, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One.
