The new YouTube app on the Wii U may not be the best one, bogged down by technical problems from the start, it could use work. With slow load times and crashes happening to a lot of people some updating could be used. Users found it was easier to go to the YouTube website through the Wii U’s Web Browser instead of using the app.
Recently however things have gotten worse for the app, and it is not looking good. YouTube recently updated the look of their website to many users dismay. This new update prevents the app from working on the Wii U. The HTML5 browser used on the system has trouble working with the website. Some work definitely needs to be done on the app to get this working properly.
Fear now though, the guys at gonintendo have found a solution to the problem. By messing with the video page’s URL they have found a way to get things working again.
When you load your video up go to the top of the page and tap the url bar, replace the “watch?v=” part with “embed/”, and enjoy the videos you have been waiting to see.
This fix could get annoying after the twentieth time of having to change the video address, so hopefully the YouTube app gets fixed quick.
